DISCO3 is 5!!!
Well, would you believe it? DISCO3 has made it to the grand age of 5 years old
I'm not usually one to make a big fuss about anything really, but I do think on reaching this milestone I should say something.
Five years ago this evening, I posted the first message on DISCO3.CO.UK welcoming everyone to a brand new site solely for the recently launched Discovery 3 (and LR3).
Initial uptake was "steady", it took two days for the first D3 owner to join and post, this honour went to Gareth who is still with us today But membership soon grew, along with discussions about the initial niggles and which were to become both well documented and well understood.
It's been a very enjoyable five years for me overall, there have been a couple of tough times, but the positive reaction to the site, the way it's grown have and the enjoyment and assistance people get from it have far outweighed any slight issues or teething troubles.
I personally will never forget, as a fresh-faced student in my trusty 90, going along to the first ever trip which took place in Wales with convoys of shiny new D3s, all there because of the site, or meeting many of you for the first time. I still get a little bit over-excited whenever I see a D3 sporting a DISCO3.CO.UK sticker - and I look forward to seeing D4s with DISCO4 stickers I'm very proud of the site and its good natured, good humoured and fantastically helpful members - it simply couldn't exist without you all, or be quite the same place without some of the characters I thank you for - most of the time - making it really great to run.
Special thanks also have to go to the sponsors, again without which this site simply couldn't be run the way it is.
Finally, thank you to the moderators - Slimer, Gareth, Winger and DG, who all contribute to help keep the place running so smoothly It couldn't be done without you guys
Here's to many more happy years of DISCO3.CO.UK (and DISCO4.COM) and of enjoying Land Rover's quite amazing Discovery 3.
Thanks everyone - I'm so pleased I started the site and I hope you're pleased to be a part of it 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Ah well - better than the alternative I'm on a whisky diet. I've lost three days already.

I have to agree, been here only a few months. Wish I had joined while looking for a D3 and not after buying it.
I have found it to be a great site and very helpful with great advice.
Keep it up!!
