Replaced the brake pads on the Disco yesterday and used my favourite gadget which I knocked up a few years ago when at work.
I had a P38 at the time and found wheel changing a pain in the ass.
Used it on my L322 and Vogue-both of which had 20" alloys.
Makes wheel refitting so much easier especially if you are not as fit as you used to be or changing a wheel in the dark by the side of the road and it's raining at the same time.
PM me for dimensions and details if interested.

You go ahead, I don't wish to tread on anyone's toes
I still have the wheel stud tap and access to a lathe but no longer have any aluminium bar of a suitable diameter to turn down. I could get the bar but as we are likely to go over to France for a while now that the restrictions appear to be lifted, it would be imprudent of me to give delivery times etc.Relocated to Mid France from N. 2011 D4 XS - OBD port protection, RLD spare wheel protector, All LED interiors lights, Timed Climate enabled, iiD tool paired.
2011 D4 Landmark - Stolen from same dealer before I paid for it
2011 D4 GS - Stolen whilst at dealer ... All LED interiors lights, DRLs, Spare Wheel protector.
1996 300Tdi - Eaten by tin worms
I made them out of Aluminium due to the weight, you could use Brass, Stainless steel or even Mild Steel etc.
I would advise against any type of Plastic or hard Nylon/Delrin etc. as the threads are likely to wear after repeated use.Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021

As long as they stay put and you're pushing the wheel along them they may be OK. Possibly more of an issue is downward force from weight of wheel..

As a retired Engineer, I was looking at durability.
When the thread distorts and wears, as it will with plastics, there is the possibility it could slip off the stud.
I suppose you could use a piece of tube with a clearance hole for the stud and just slide it over if you wish.
The thread holds the support rigid enough to take a 22" alloy with ease and aligns the wheel centre with the hub spigot accuratelyRelocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021
