Mark
I apologise if I am incorrectly interpreting what you mentioned or putting words in your mouth, but I'm keen to know. I know when we spoke a while back you were concerned about using your IID tool and thought it's use may be causing problems on your car.
I've been wondering whether to get one, and your caution has made me hold off. Given your recent post about what might be causing your issues , are you now more positive about your IID?
CheersGary

I believe the issue is my car possibly +1 now car specific and don't believe the IID tool was at fault
Gap were very helpful ..it has cautioned my personal use but I wouldn't put others off buying and using it the vast majority of users have had no similar issues MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

the bad news is its a dealer fix im afraid
my tale of woe :
Added remote FBH control to mine so needed enabling .
Bodsy from here met up and did the enable all good but noticed later no audio
met back up and he spent an hour trying everything to resolve including the obvious restore to previous but no joy . and he had done other XXVs so assumed i had an odd issue and something must have failed on re initialisation .As i was under warranty i took it to the dealer and asked them to sort.
Initially there was talk of the head unit / amp maybe packed up but after 3 days they decided to do a complete software restore from the factory vin specific build file from solihull
All was restored and when i questioned the dealer all i got back was dont know why it did it but its fixed now , sort of sledgehammer cracks walnut but job done .
Well 8 months go by and i have a tpms issue with my spare so now with my own IID tool i decide to omit the spare off the tpms ...................and yes you gessed it on ccf edit bang all audio gone again
spoke to Gap and after trying loads of further edits decide its something that can only be sorted by dealer with SDD kit so back i go again tail between my legs
This time 2 days same solution and £250 later feeling rather foolish i got it back and now only use the IID for diagnostic and not CCF edit anymore .. dont believe its a IID issue and they were very helpful but the only reason i came to was that my specific car has a corrupt file in it somewhere which perhaps had a specific factory patch which gets removed when you CCF edit but is reinstalled when the rebuild is done with its factory build file .
now you have experienced it perhaps its an XXV thing but take comfort in the fact that its software not hardware ,but i think its main dealer bound and i would tell them my tale if it may help.
dgardel had a similar issue but i think from memory it was only audio not other system related and so a different solution
keep me updated as id love to know what it is but suspect you will just get the sledgehammer solution

Been in touch with the sealers & got it booked in - shame I've got to wait nearly a month for them though. I'll just have to sing to myself for a few weeks

Hope not.
Should have read this BEFORE I went outside last night to sort out adding TPMS to my dash! Bad thing is it didn't fix/add what I wanted. Good news is I still have audio - well on the TV and MP3
Scared me now..
Can one not get the config off and squirt it back on with some other tool?

Just picked up this thread, I too have an XXV! Owned my late 2014 model for about 18 months now. So much more refined than my old 2005 D3, which was still a great car. Every extra you can think of seems to have been added!

Hope you enjoy ownership. I liken it to the luxury internally of a Range Rover with the external practicality of a Discovery.
