It flows down into the AC motor, through the AC filter and leaks through the plastic assembly at the back, under the carpet.
There is a mod you can do to create a deflector to divert any water that comes down past the scuttle to around the AC entry. When you take off the scuttle you'll see how the AC vent protrudes into the way of any water that gets under the scuttle.
Do a search on here and you'll find a couple of posts. I had to do this fix.
Thanks was this on your Disco 4 I didn’t want to get into Katie off the scuttle pannel if possible

The fact thats its front and back makes me believe that your issue is the drain elbow behind the CJB
When this fails the water runs down the loom behind the panel for the bonnet release and then into the door cill and travels to the rear as well. Once this is full of water it overflows into the carpet soaking into the foam until you become aware of the wet carpet
its incredible how much water is in the car but the cill seems to become a reservoir so its built up over time before it overflows into the carpets i would say once your carpets soaked your looking at a good 2 pints of water to get out of the car MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
