Warrentywise - EPB replacement |
|
Just wondering, my EPB locked up today and after much faffing and using the release cable under the cupholder. Its mobile again. Reset the ignition and selected the handbrake to go on, a bit if screeching and it went on again..but again, wouldnt come off without a tug on the release cable.
Looking through my warranty (gold upto 10 years old), it says under brakes, they will replace any mechanical or electronic item thats failed, but obvs not pads, shoes under wear and tear.
Has anyone had thiers done under warranty..the place i would normally take it too in Leyland is quoting £1350 to do the job (online price) eeekk
The aftermarket box is around £300, genuine is £700 ish, plus shoes, pads and disc’s. Tbh, those look fine on my car, so does the lot need changing even if they are good? 2013 Baltic Blue D4 - a balance between family car and camping machine - trying to not bladder it with stuff I dont need!

We had a good experience if ww, they paid for the driveshaft and a few other bits when a cv let go on the off road course t the lr show years back on our old D3, they did have to inspect before and after the work was done and they didn’t tell you so was probably a way of getting out of paying

Looking at the policy, I might be stumped - its not specifically covered under brakes. They list master cylinders and servos, but not any control units for the brakes or anything else bar the engine ecu.
. Calling another local indy this morning that my dad uses for his D4.

Warranty Direct also exclude those items from their claims. Well, 'old' Warranty Direct do, that's who I with.
Good luck with a claim but of course speak to them. Jim
