| Warranty Wise vs Warranty Direct |

Hi everyone.
I've read quite a few of the threads regarding this and I'm still confused.
Hoping to pick up my first D4 on Tuesday and want to get a warranty in place from day 1.
Vehicle is a 2014 HSE with 26k on the clock. Full dealer service history.
Warranty Wise
Labour £200/hr, No owner contribution, Repair limit £10k. £2,791.23 for 3 Years
Not much detail on what is/isn't covered.
Warranty Direct
Labour uncapped, No owner contribution, Repair limit = value of vehicle. £1,374.49 for 3 years.
WD quote includes
Engine except exhaust pipes and exhaust gaskets
Transmission
Suspension except road wheels and tyres
Electronic control units (ECU's) and computers except performance modifications
Fuel System
Ignition system except spark plugs and high tension leads
Turbocharger
Braking systems except drum, discs & pads
Steering
Wheel bearings
Airbag system
Catalytic convertor
Failure of DPF following a renewal cycle.
Based on opinion on her Warranty Wise doesn't pay out but the Warranty Direct one seems to be priced low for what's offered.
Any opinions/comments most welcome.

WW give good discounts against their quoted price and WD won’t budge. That’s what clinched it for me in the end to go with WW.
I will tell you if it was worth it when I put my first claim in!
I also noted that those who have claimed and experienced no pay out, do not have any experience with the latest products from both companies... Justin

What sort of questions did you ask them regarding the policy to fully understand the weasel worded get out clauses.

We spent a great deal of time working through scenarios, including major engine components failing and it seemed very comprehensive. It also covers minor component failure through wear and tear that would lead to a major failure.
I took out the absolute maximum cover, and when I asked about the bad reviews, they addressed this by saying most were claims against dealer policies which were not particularly high in cover.
It took me almost a week of talking to the two before making my decision, but what I did find from this site is that most of the experiences were based on products that didn’t compare to the cover I took out, and most were also above 100k Miles, where mine is a 40k policy.
Of course the real test is in making a claim, but from speaking to the two companies I got a better feeling from WW.

I have had WD cover for a number of years now & they have paid out as per the policy, for injectors , in tank pump, High Pressure pump, propshaft and rear diff over the years and some steering joints.
A bit of a hassle at times for the garage, as they take their time to authorise sometimes.

Current comparison of prices/features between Warrantywise & Warranty Direct I've been able to find out: -
Warrantywise
04/04 Plan
Labour £200/hr
No Contribution to repair by me.
Repair limit £10k
Air bags, air con, emissions, MOT failue & multimedia included.
Also includes oil seals, head gaskets, drive belts, wiring looms, cooling systems and parts replaced in pairs.
£2,791.23 for 3 years.
Warranty Direct
Labour rate uncapped.
Excess £50
Repair limit Value of vehicle.
Customer contribution 0%
Engine except exhaust pipes and exhaust gaskets
Transmission
Suspension except road wheels and tyres
Electronic control units (ECU's) and computers except performance modifications
Fuel System
Ignition system except spark plugs and high tension leads

Braking system (less consumables)

Warranty Direct seems the way to go for me based on price and features unless anyone else can think of a compelling argument for Warrantywise
I know Warrantywise will discount but the approach of 'charge as much as we can get away with' doesn't endear me to them. It makes me wonder how they will be when it comes to crunch time...

Mine is just coming up to 4 years old with 26k on the clock.

Mine has just turned 4 and is on 40K miles, WD quote was up in the high £2K's for 3 years.
Must be the mileage! 2014 D4 XS

I think based on what you have here it makes sense to go for WD, but I am not sure you have enough information to make a real comparison...
I was told that everything is covered outside of parts that wear according to manufacturer expectations... not sure what that means but won’t be able to test it until something goes wrong 
Good news for me is that I am on a monthly renewal scheme and able to drop and swap at any time I wish.
