Vibration at over 50mph
Not sure if anyone can help with this but have just picked up my D4 HSE last Tuesday (love it!) and whilst at town speed the ride is fine, at motorway speeds (or above 50mph) there's a distinct vibration/ jiggly feel through the steering wheel and in the cabin. Could this be a misaligned wheel? I'm sure it's not right as I've head such good things about the car as a motorway cruiser and the only -ves I heard re: ride quality were around town. Thanks a for your help!.

Probably not well-balanced. Had the same when I had my winter tyres put on. Had it balanced again (one wheel needed 95 grams!) and now it's fine.

Wheel vibration at speed is almost certainly a wheel balance issue. Pop it back to the dealer and get them to take it out for a test drive. I'm sure they'll soon sort it.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Happened to me recently on my D3 and it was wheel balance. Take it to your local tyre shop and get them to check the wheel balance, much quicker than taking to dealer.

I'd go back to the dealer that way if its not the wheel balance or they scratch them they can sort it out without blaming anyone else

When you next get vibration get out & check temp of wheel, it could be binding brake caliper. I've had 3 out of 4 replaced due to this, all had wheel vibration at normal driving speeds & initially thought it was a balance problem.

Check all the wheel nuts are tight (140nm torque)
If you have a full size spare, try swapping it with each of the front wheels to find out which one is out of balance.

Thanks for all the advice guys, can't get over how helpful people are on this site. Will try and take it into a LR dealer over the next couple of days and see what they say. Brake caliper suggestion is interesting as I've notice quite a bit of brake squeeking so maybe it's related.

Hi
Just wondering what the outcome was on your vibration problem? Got the same issue on mine, had all the wheels re-balanced, front discs and pads replaced by the dealer all within the first 500 miles. Not impressed!

I think there was a recall for this issue. They either replace the bracket or put another one over it.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I have a similar problem with my recently purchased D4 2010 HSE. It vibrates at 60mph. Got new wheels all balanced, changed the propshaft centre bearing and still vibrates. Something strange I noticed though on the tachometer the engine speed goes up and down like a slight wobble at 60mph not massive drop but it wobbles then the car starts vibrating. Any idea what might me causing it. Thanks
