Have you noticed any surging on the Rev counter when stood at lights etc or going up hill with some load.

Have you (or previous owners) ever had the gearbox flushed and filter replaced?

I haven’t done it and I don’t think the previous owner done it either. Do you think this may cause the vibration?

I had a test drive earlier to test the gearbox so I drove on manual, when I reached 60mph it started vibrating, changed the gear from 6 to 5, it stopped immediately. I drove about 20 miles on manual at higher speed, no vibration at all. So, it seem like the gearbox is causing it. Any ideas about the best way servicing the auto gearbox.

Start with replacing the filter in the gearbox (I also went for the metal sump pan that makes changing it easier in the future) and getting a Megaflush done (forced flushing of the gearbox oil gives a more complete change than just draining it).

Try that and see how it runs after... sorry can't help with local suppliers Laughing

I thought it would be a good idea to give you an update on the vibration. Local garages won’t do the mega flush due to a gearbox failure after a machine flush. So I changed the filter, oil and sump (went for a metal one) myself in a usual way, the vibration has almost gone, the rev needle doesn’t wobble anymore. Very pleased with that. Will change the oil again in a week to see if that clears the vibration completely.
