Variable PAS?

Power assist on steering seems to have become 'variable' ie steering seems heavier at some times than at others - tends to be at low speed or on long bends but not always - very inconsistent. I've done a search but not much joy - any ideas anybody please? 2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

Does the 2010MY-2013MY RRS have variable PS? It can when others can't,

All models of RRS have variable PAS Thumbs Up

Little Servotronic valve on the steering rack is very common for playing up My D3 Build Thread
