Understaing the height of the Disco?

Hi All, i have been doing some scoping in my garage and have just relaised that due to the angle of entry my new SE may not fit in to the garage Embarassed . I have 199cm of clearence but due to the ramp angle when the front wheels enter the garage the cars height gets exaggerated.

My Questions are:

can the car be driven (slowly at access heigt)
How long to lower the car, once i have eneterd the drive way?

Confused Thanks
 The Harder i work, the luckier i get!

just lower the D3 into access height... 1837mm - and you can drive plenty fast enough to get in your garage.

If you hold the paddle toward access height it will lock into this setting (you'll get an audible bong too).

If you do go too fast then the D3 will warn you.

If it doubt have an observer watch as you creep into the garage.

It will drop to access height from normal in probably 5 secs.

I use Access Mode each time I park in my garage. Before I reverse into my garage 4 Quarters, I select Access Mode whilst on the road and drive slowly over the mountable kerb. The ride is rough (as if the vehicle is on rubber bump stops) but if you take it slowly the suspension still feels compliant. (Someone (hint TFC) might be able to explain the difference regarding Locked Access Mode and Access Mode.)

Actually, I select Access Mode as soon as I have selected reverse gear and drive up the 15 metres as the vehicle is lowering. As Chris mentions, this takes about 5 seconds. I then put the vehicle in Locked Access Mode and disembark.

Of interest, I have had to drive in Access Mode twice on roads (once on the highway) when there was a suspension fault. Since the software enhancement that was done in May 06 and a replacement height sensor, I have not driven in Access Mode other than parking.

The only difference is the road speed at which the D3 will automatically return to normal height
Access = 10km/h (6.2mph)
Crawl (locked access) = 40km/h (24.8mph)
Both modes can be selected on the move and will part lower between 20km/h (12.5mph) and 8km/h (5mph) if the speed is below 8km/h, it will lower to access / crawl height straight away. There is no height difference between the two modes.
