I can't really see what all the fuss is about, the place looks a right mess, it needs some good drainage and the grass doesn't look like its been cut in years.

I have seen idiots destroy much in my other hobbies of shooting and horse riding. The former I now restrict to clay pigeon shooting, the latter I have seen many bridleways closed for disrespectful riders straying of designated pathways onto farmland.
We enjoy what we do, do-gooders are a pain, but it is also their choice in life to protect what they see fit to do so.
There is always good and bad in all walks of life, lets hope there a few who disrespect the countryside we all love
Quite agree, when we were in the lakes last week, even though we had 6 cars, you would barely know we were there. We all had a great time and some were quite challenging, if you want to thrash it around go to a pay and play site!

Well said Dave T - we do not know who or what sees our site and we can easily become "tarred with the same brush".
The more we show respect and a care of duty to the environment we are driving on, the better. We all enjoy doing what the D3 does best - off-road pleasure, we should just do it with care.

Just to be clear, I'm not defending what was done - simply pointing out that the photo's on the Southport site were maybe set up to twist the truth at least a little. Cheers,

If they had stuck to the routes, there wouldn't have been a story to write...
Regardless of any damage done etc, it's all ammo to be used against anyone who does use a lane properly.
We don't have the luxury of having lanes in Scotland that we can drive any time we like, it's all organised days to get your off roading needs.
Don't let a minority turn your area into what we have to put up with. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

idiots spoiling it for others. Good and respectable 4x4 drivers would stay in the lane. This now may give the council to close the route to 4x4s
