wtf???
Anyway toll tag is usefull.
Shell fuel stations have decent coffee machines with 25/30 cl cups.
Fixed peed cams are often 'announced' by a warning sign.

We returned from camping in France yesterday. Get an autoroute tag. Saves time and hassle at the peage. This was the first time I had one. Well worth it. No queuing or even stopping at the barriers.
Off through France in a couple of weeks and intend to get a 'tag' for the autoroutes.
Just wanted to make sure that they work ok through the Disco 4s heated windscreen.
Any advice on a suitable location for it gratefully received.

Mine is in the same location, behind the mirror on the black part of the screen. My windscreen is heated too, not a problem.
There are 30 kph lanes meant for HGV that you can use, just follow the trucks you'll be fine.
On the toll stations on smaller exits, it has happened to me that I needed to drive up to the barrier quite close before it would open. You are even past the point where you could reach out of the window for the normal payment!

Thanks for the info.
Just ordered mine through the Caravan Club and received a 12E discount.
I also use a Halifax clarity credit card for foreign use and I would vouch that you get very good exchange rates. Would honestly say that it does what it says on the tin!

Wiljo
I also came across this on a couple of barriers - it seemed that my front was only inches away from the barrier before the tag was recognised.

Is the tag system ok for tintents also?
I seem to remember being a class 2 vehicle in France so assume the system can tell the difference?

Tag worked fine for us. Didn't really have much in the way of queue situations but did find we didn't have to stop at the toll, just slow right down and play chicken with the barrier MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

They are fine according to the website with caravan - I will be getting one soon as we are going in May and August
I think the Eurotunnel offer is slightly better than the caravan club one
My brother got completely stitched up at an unmanned one last year with caravan and was asked to pay €50 whereas we paid less than €20 without caravan

Yep, with a tintent - you just obviously don't go in the height restricted ones unless the tin tent is a cabriolet (or you want it to be!!!)
Edited to add...... get the APRR one if you want the cheapest rather than being ripped off/paying more than necessary with saneftolling.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

As the APRR.FR site uses embedded images as text boxes the google translater won't work and I can't see another option to translate to English.
Can somebody explain the workings and the costings to me please. Or show me how to translate it.

Go to
Telepeage
Advantages
Apply online
then you will get a picture of a map - you want to select the motorway network that says Reseau APRR not the AREA one.
If you want the non paper billing which I would suggest - this bills you 1.70 EUR on each month you use the service (e.g, use it in July and August it will charge you 3.40, you won't get charged for the other months as you didn't use it)
The rest of the form should be reasonably self explanatory - if not I'd suggest open another web window and have google ready to translate the words you can't guess MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
