Which tow bar?
Guys.
I’m seeing these tow bars for sale saying they’re both LR.
Can somebody please confirm and tell me which one I should go with

The lower one is a LR detachable tow bar. I would personally recommend a tow trust tl1 fixed to bar. It’s what I’ve just fitted and I already had a detachable one.

It’s to tow a 5m RIB so nothing too heavy. Can the tow trust be self installed without too much hassle?
I.e. does it fit into existing mounting points or do I need to start drilling ?

So what's the benefit of the Tow Trust fixed Towbar over the Landrover fixed one?
The removeable LR one isn't for me, but the LR Fixed ones I've had on my D3 and D4 have given me no issues at all.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

The TL1 takes around half an hour to install, very simple, just don’t drop the tubes inside the chassis if you have a D4!
Towtrust TL1 every time for me as well
Of the two photos only the lower one will fit your disco but make sure it comes with two keys if you decide against the fixed towbar.. towing a large rib, potentially getting everything wet, then the fixed TL1 really is your only option!I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Personally, I think it looks better, and is more compact. I don't like the LR plate, it looks big and unwieldy.Richard

The tow trust one is also more than half the price of the LR fixed one. And the centre mounting has a bolt through the mounting and the chassis so it cannot come out. I’ve seen pictures of the LR centre mounting come out so it’s hanging on the side bars. The Tow trust unit cannot do this so it is the safest one to use.

I am another one going for the Tow Trust one. Better profile for angles if you do go off road, for me it looks far better and side by side it also looks a far better product.
I went with their 13 pin electrics and the gizmo to wire in for led lights so you don't get the weird flicker.
All in all a well priced extremely well made product that was easy to fit and wire in.....just don't do on a rainy day like i did, that is no fun.
