Torq Tune Re-Map

Hi all,

As promised, a post Torq Tune review.

MPG Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Berlin to Cardiff averaged 26.7mpg (loaded up with, SWMBO, 3 kids and luggage)

Torq Tune Re-Map incorporated

Cardiff to Berlin averaged 31.0 mpg (loaded up with SWMBO, 3 kids, luggage and about 70kg of shopping)

OOMPH Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

My D3 now has the heart and lungs that it surely thoroughly deserves. Pulling away is effortless, it pulls like a train right through all the gears and overtaking is now smooth and more importantly, safe as a result of the better mid-range acceleration.

I took it up to 190kph on the Autobahn and I think there was atleast another 10kph in the tank. Whereas she was running out of legs at about 170kph pre Torq Tune remap.

The Sevice Thumbs Up Sheep

First class, Iain (10forcash) was a pleasure to meet and deal with, he is obviously passionate about LRs and particularly the D3. The whole service took no more than an hour and as it's mobile it can be done at any place of your choosing.

My D3 which I have always considered a very capable vehicle, is now performing sublimely and an already fantastic vehicle now surpasses all previous expectations.

Great to hear Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I stopped on the hard shoulder Sunday morn when a wellie fell out of the wet locker on the caravan (SWMBO didn't shut it properly). It was just after a bend and a bridge in front so not much hard shoulder left and I couldn't really see what was coming.
Anyway, I booted it and got to 70 in no time, the remap gave me the confidence to give it some, with 600nm to play with it feels pretty brisk. Thumbs Up

BW yours mirrors my findings with TT, I regularly run up and down the A9 from Perth to Aviemore and the extra kick when overtaking is a life saver. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Well, 580nm, it is a guy from Carlisle who used to work for pro drive, it is his own re-map. It gives 45bhp and 140nm extra, oh yesss. Thumbs Up

Is that at the engine or the wheels?

Slightly Off Topic - TFC, does the TorqTune remap tell the EGR valves to keep their filthy little gobs shut to increase the mid-range power? As the valves are driven as a function of engine load and speed, I assume they're driven from the map?

"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?
