Hi! We decided against the one in Melton Mowbray with the high mileage then found out it had sold anyway but thanks Rhino!
We went to Lookers Battersea last weekend and test drove a 2010 GS and both loved it - have well and truly convinced the husband Smile
We are off to have a look at an HSE and an XS in Edenbridge tomorrow. Budget has been upped to 30K and it seems like there are a few 09 HSE's for that (was hoping for a 2010 but we'll have to see what else comes up). I would be very happy with an XS so will just see what we come across.

The XS at Edenbridge looks like it has a black front grille - is that a LR additional 'thing'?

Edited to add the one we test drove was wrong colour combination - looking for black with black leather. Love the almond too but have a Great Dane to stuff into it so that's a no for the light carpets Wink

Good luck with your search, you can spec Black Design Pack which comes with black 20" alloys, black grille and side vents, privacy glass and black roof rails or someone could have just replaced the grille alone. I would have really liked a sunroof which is standard on the hse's but would have compromised the age and mileage too much, let us know how you get on!

Well we're still on the search. We haven't had any luck finding the right car so far and have had a busy few weeks.
Our budget is 30K absolute top, as new as possible and Grey with black leather or black with black leather. I think I'm edging more towards newer and GS/XS rather than slightly older/more mileage for an HSE for our budget.
Have only been searching approved used Land rover garages and anything I have seen that looks good is flipping miles away from us in London Rolling Eyes
If anyone has seen anything good do point me in the right direction - cheers!

I'd just add, don't be scared by a non-landrover dealer. If the car is less than 3yrs old, it's still under LR warranty and you can easily get it back into the LR dealer system Smile

I bought mine from a small (non-LR) dealer and got a much better deal than I'd have got from a franchise (in fact the dealer who does my servicing told me that they'd offer more in trade-in than I paid for my car!).

Good deals are out there, but they do go fast.

By the way I bought the high mileage D4 from Melton Mowbray, very pleased with it, not so pleased with the dealers after sales though.

I'd heard on here and elsewhere that Saxton were to be avoided. Is that right?

I drove to Sunderland from High Wycombe (Bucks) for my D4, it was well worth the trip to get the right car at the right price.

As a GS owner I don't miss all the toys, I've fitted loads of my own so maybe thats why! The choice for me was the younger car, for my budget I was faced with a late high spec D3 or a base model D4 ..... as I plan to keep the D4 for many years the age (2yrs old when I bought it), mileage (15000m) & LR warranty were the deciding factors.

Whichever model you go far you won't regret it as it's an awesome vihicle. I'm in Africa with work for 1yr & have had to leave my car at home, I'm Big Cry

Will also concure with comments about Saxtons, have never dealt with them myself but have never heard good things Evil or Very Mad

2010 D4 ....... now gone and replaced with a 05RRV Autobiography
