Misfuel
As some of you are aware, I had a bit of a mishap on Friday afternoon. I was in a rush to do a bit of shopping, pick the kids up and get down to Salisbury. When I got to the petrol station I found it was being used as a car park - couldn't get into the pumps the usual way round and had to go in the exit, park up the 'wrong way' round, and had a few words with a bloke who was just leaving his car parked up in the way
The pumps I usually use are lined up 1.Ultimate Diesel 2.Diesel 3.Unleaded. What I didn't realise/notice was the pumps the other side were 1.Ultimate Unleaded 2.Unleaded 3.Diesel. I picked up the Ultimate Unleaded thinking it was Ultimate Diesel and brimmed the tank. As I replaced the nozzle I saw the 'Unleaded' label (I actually did the banging head bit)
Luckily I knew not to even turn on the ignition, so after a call to DG for the LRA number (thanks mate ) I got through to LRA who were there within 45 minutes. The guy pulled the fuse and relay on the fuel pump and got the car loaded. He even phoned round all the local dealers to see who could do the job the quickest - very impressive service.
Unfortunately Tuesday was the earliest, with a cost of at least £450, just for draining the tank and replacing the fuel filter Just waiting to ring the dealer today to hear the latest.
On top of that I missed taking my car to Salisbury. A big thank you to Discoflo for coming and picking me up and driving me around - even sacrificing his Friday night jolly to do so. Thanks chap
