Went there a few weeks ago for half term, a large comercial site with private beach and it was great, large pitches very clean and well run, beer chaeper on site than in local pubs Whistle

Thumbs Up for Pentewan. Been going for over 40 years now, it used to be a farmer's field when I first went there, bit more commercial now! Great location and beach, down there on a front pitch for 2 weeks end of July.

Just thought, Pentewan is likely to be pretty booked up, worth trying their sister site up the road called Heligan Woods. It's a nice site, cheaper and you still get access to Pentewan beach.

http://www.trethem.com/ or Treatheake Manor near Veryan....

Both of these are away from the madding crowd but are in without doubt one of the most beautiful parts of the country on the Roseland Peninsula.....

Re Eden... i also thought it was over rated and you really really have to be into your plants....Far better if youre a plant lover was the lost gardens of Heligan near Mevagissey..

Enjoy... very jealous..

I have also been to Heligan Woods and to be honest it didn't compare to Pentewan.
The only positive was we could take our dog Smile

Yep.... another Pentewan convert Thumbs Up

Not quite as long serving as Somerset Jem cos I've only been going there 22 years haha. There are things that drive me mad but still keep going back! The place gets under your skin Very Happy

Perfect if you love the sea, good facilities, club house can be noisy of a night so get a pitch far away if its likely to annoy you! Saying that, we get a pitch about as close to the clubhouse as you can get!

Not able to go this year so already having withdrawl symptons! Shocked

I can recommend Tregarton Park campsite (which is not for from Pentewan), we had a great week there last year, and are heading back at the end of August. Really nice people, good, clean facilities, swimming pool etc.

Their website is http://www.campsiteincornwall.co.uk/

I know this thread is quite old but...

I can highly recommend Eden valley caravan park, it's only a couple of miles from the Eden project, 1 mile outside Lostwithiel. Excellent facilities and clean too. You'll get a very friendly welcome, dogs and children are welcome and it is all pretty much hard standing and level. And only £20 a night but it does close at the end of October. They cater for tents too, not near a beach but well located.

The entry road looks narrow but it's not bad, I easily got our 26 feet twin axle van in there no problem at all. Very Happy
