Can you recommend a MAINS powered inflator?

O wise ones - I seek your collective wisdom. Wink

Can anyone recommend a good mains powered tyre inflator? I have a perfectly serviceable 12v one but using it requires running the (usually cold) engine which seems unnecessary given that I park next to an outdoor socket.

I haven't got space for a proper compressor, tank and hoses etc. There's loads of 12v inflators on the market but I can't find a decent mains powered one with a useful pressure gauge built in. Any suggestions?

I have a 12v inflator but mainly use a twin barrel foot pump. I've never seen or heard of a mains powered inflator.

Could you use something like this with your 12volt pump .... just run it off the mains ?

What about a rechargeable one?

I can't imagine it coping with doing 4 Disco tyres in one charge though, and I don't know if you can charge and use at the same time...

Think of you want mains power you will need to go down the compressor route.

You could always buy a mini compressor like these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...ompressor.

However, for a bit extra you can get a 'proper' one like this http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...ompressor.

You then get the benefit of buying lots of tools for it Laughing Laughing Owning a disco you will need them sooner or later Laughing

Two alternatives, both using your existing 12V compressor, both of which I use:-

1. Use the "Supply mode" of a decent battery charger like CTEK;

or

2. Use a 12v supply from a portable power pack like this:-

bit late but I use one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-Automotive-RA...B00133VDCM

Find it much better than the 12v ones. haven't used it to inflate an empty tyre on the d3, but used it to bring a trailer one back to life, and bike tyres etc. Does it in seconds. Very useful bit of kit and I probably use it every other week for something or other.

The only downside is the pressure guage is a little small so would like something a bit clearer, but other than that.
