Euro Style plates on Aust D4
The Aust version of The D4 has a mounting block on the tail gate that is designed for a conventional Aust sized number plate. Has anyone taken this off and put Euro styled plates on their D4 in Australia.
If so, how did you go mounting them on the back (ie taking off the mounting block) and do you have any pics to publicly show or PM me so I can see what it looks like?
I'm keen to get euro plates as thy are perfectly sized for the front but would need some work to get them to fit on the back.
Many thanks

My D3 has had the block you are talking about taken off, there are normal mounting bolt fittings behind the block.
Take it off and have a look.2014 SDV6 HSE White, LLAMS Height Controller, Tinted Glass, Tuff Ant Sliders and 18" steel wheels, Safari Snorkel, Rhino Rack Platform, ARB Air Compressor, Custom Drawer and storage unit -http://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64 UHF CB, 4x4 Intellegence RWC, 120ltr Long range tank, Rock Sliders and Compressor protection plate Beanie grill, De Tango.

The plates used on the rear in the UK are actually square with 3 or four digits up top and 3 below, not sure what the rest of europe does.

It seems to me that most D3/D4 is England have the square plate. Where i live in central europe, Austria and Germany use the same size as the front.
Im not sure about the block that you refer to, but to fit my plates they screw to the back tailgate. There is two small plastic plugs that are in the metal and the screws go into these,cannot see LR changing it for Australia.2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

thanks for posting the pic Den. That's what I was keen to see. In Australia the standard issue plates are like this;
but you can get personalised plates in a Euro style like this;
And here is a side on of the rear of the disco. It's hard to see but there is a wedge shaped mounting block that is the same size as the standard issue plates;

It seems as though all you need to do is take the number plate off and the holder. The wedge shape should be able to come off once you undo a couple of screws. The new plate holder will then screw on and insert the new number plate. 2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)
