TTM for correct ride height reading ? |
|
I'm pretty sure my car is sitting slightly lower at the back left corner.Only by visual inspection, but putting it in 4x4 seems to confirm a slight dip.
Going to get it checked, but there is some suggestion that a more accurate reading will be taken by putting it in tight tolerance mode first.....just wondered what best practice was please.....TTM or not ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

You are best putting it into TTM - as it will work the suspension harder to get it level.
ISTR the best way is to be on a flat level service, go into offroad height, move forward and then lower to normal. Them take your measurements. Mark.

Euan
As suggested by angelfire flat surface then measure from the center of the wheel hubs to the top of the wheel arches to get your heights.
What I do now is if I get a D3/D4 that's lower on one corner I just load my D3 settings to the car and write these to the RHECU and its sorted.. a lot easier than messing about.

Right, finally got round to doing this and as I suspected, back left is sitting approx 20mm lower than the right....so is there anything I can do ? Would a hard reset be worth a shot ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

All sorted, height sensor was fine so a recalibration of the Ride Height ecu sorted it.....18mm out apparently so a tape measure estimate of 20 wasn't too bad ...forgot to ask if they put it into TTM when recalibrating it
Thanks for the advice "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
