tyre dating
i have a tyre dated 2208 on a disco 3 hse rim which was a spare in a set i bought to provide a spare for my wifes car. it has brand new trye fitted to it with manufacturing bobbles all still present. is it still safe to use at five years old since manufacture? thanks, john.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

The ones on mine are that age, I have no issues. It all depends on if its been stored out of sunlight, its sunlight that breaks down the oils in the rubber making them brittle and harder. does it look and smell like a new tyre, if its the spare from under a D3 its been out of the sun.Altox GSM FBH controller thread

it feels like a new tyre. been stored with a load of spare rims and tyres for various cars i keep round the side of my house in a darkish alley with a lean to roof on it. i keep my spare rims there because its so shaded.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007
