Of course it's worth chipping your car....it makes a huge difference....if you want to Turbochip then speak to Rob at D-Tech...he's mobile and will come to you Smile

"drguy"...... Not another Glagow Doctor is it....? Wink Could be an islexdic drugy Laughing

TC on a 2007 car is not as noticable as it is on a 2006 car. Will still make a difference, but not a "Holy S**t" + BIG Grin kind of a difference. Laughing

Don't know how far North Tasmod comes, but Turbochip are based in Carlisle and that's where mine was done.

07 cars do have a lot more low down fuelling than 06 cars and this nmakes them feel better than the earlier cars. There is still a lot of improvement to be gained with a remap Smile

I chipped a TD5 D2 and whilst it was great with all the extra power it did come at a price in terms of reliability. When I came to sell it to get my D3 I was caught in a moral dilema do I tell them and get less trade in or allow somebody to get a chipped car and not insure it properly?

The other myth is the increase in mpg. In my experience when you have extra power you tend to use it , the extra power comes from burning more fuel. The faster it goes the more fuel it burns. So I got a drop in fuel economy but got places faster !

Lastly warrenty. I know its always undetectable no one will ever know etc (well until they drive it or stick it on a dyno), but in my experience LR are not stupid and you will run a risk of a claim not being honoured.

Insurance - I did not have any problems very small premium increase. Well worth

So in summary , I love the extra power chipping provides but personally I will not be doing it to my 2007 model. I hope the info helps you make the right choice for you.

Not as prolific as our other Glasgow Doctor (Dr Diesel) though. The D3 is getting to be a common choice for those of a clinical disposition....... You will be wanting a Mantec Plate for the front too no doubt?Whistle

Metal sumpguard, as fitted to G4 spec cars from factory and added by the rest of us as soon as we start thinking about using our D3s offroad. Smile

And very nicely illustrated.

What happened to the back of the car? It reminds me of the Renault11 in "A view to a kill"

It followed along dutifully. Was a prety steep sand hill/cliff thingy at Yarwell. Note FR wheel in air!
