hello all.
Newbie needing help here as i cannot seem to find a definitive answer.
will a set of 20" discovery 4 alloys fit a 2008 disco 3 and will the 109 rated tyres fitted as standard be ok?
i have looked and looked and get so much conflicting info!
thanks in advance

If they are ok for the D4 I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be ok on a D3

wheel will fit OK, but tyres don't meet UK spec for D3, "should" be 111 rated. I say should, as the same spec D3 down under (Oz) is OK for 109's - its just what LR have "approved" in different geographies.
Its up to you, just tell your insurer you're running non-standard alloys and tyres, and see what they say.

Not all D4 19" wheels will fit a D3,without modification Don't know about 20", D3 has smaller disks than D4, this can cause problems in two ways, 17" will not fit a D4, some D4 wheels will not fit a D3 because the caliper is closer to the centre of the wheel and the carrier fouls the wheel. The best way is to examine the inside boss of the 20" wheels you are considering, some don't have a boss at all, the whole inner face is flat- these will not fit without spacers and you don't want spacers with 20" tyres. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for the replays
The wheels in question are "landmark"
I don't understand how the 20" tyres are 109 even though the disco 4 is as heavy as a 3

Its what LR have homologated for use on a specific vehicle in a specific market, and as LR never used (as standard or an option) a 20" alloy for use on a D3, but did on the D4, they set the tyre spec.
If you (or more importantly your insurer) is happy with 109's, then go for it.

thanks for the replies, I have stuck with 19" and gone for some D4 HSE wheels with new Pirellis all round,
too many compromises with 20" wheels.
thanks again.
