New road only tyres needed.

Guys,

I know this has been asked and replied to a million times. The only difference with my question is that my wife never goes off road and neither do I. So Generals etc seem a little overkill. What do you guys think is the best road tyre?
I've had Goodyear Wranglers and Scorpions over the years but both of those didn't seem to last all that long with maybe 10k and they were done.
I've looked at the new Goodyears, Toyo Open Country and Proxes ST and Yokohama Geolander G051's but really have no idea where to spend my money.

Any ideas please?

Thanks Paul

For On-Road use, the Michelin Latitude Tour HP are extremely good (handling / braking performance / fuel efficiency and longevity).

Paul,

Goodyear Efficient Grip seem to be ok, they are the alternative to the Wrangles HP, I've put two on the front, they are nice and quiet and are listed by Goodyear to be better on MPG. I paid £124 + Vat each.
