Kumho/Marshall KL51 tyres? Any opinions or experience?

Having been an avid searcher of this site since I bought my V8 disco a couple of months ago, I need some advice on tyres. Confused

The set that are on are in various stages of decay and will need replacing soon. I do the vast majority of miles on road but would like some ability in the thick snow we sometimes get here in winter. I also have a TD5 D2 with Grabber AT2s which have been fantastic. Inevitably with the V8 though, I have half a thought to fuel economy and wonder if a true road tyre might be more appropriate. I've seen the Marshal KL51 (I assume the same as the Kumho KL51) in 255 60 18 at a very good price. Has anyone any experience of these tyres?

Thanks in anticipation!

KL51 is not a bad tyre but I would be happy to quote you on any tyre.

Thanks Andy

What tyre would you recommend? Does tread pattern actually make much of a difference to mpg? I've been extremely happy with my AT2s so would consider the AT. That said, is there a fuel advantage with going for a scorpion ATR, which brings me round to the Kumhos again. I've been very happy with Kumho car tyres that I've had in the past.

Never used the 51's, but had Khumo's on normal road cars before, performed well in all conditions and a good price, I think they were 34's Confused

My D3 had Marshal road tyres on 19"wheels when I got it,used for the first two years they worked as well as I could have hoped. For a change and green lanes Ive now got 17" with GGs on, but still have the Marshal for when I want them back on, still lots of miles on them. Thumbs Up

Fitted Kumho Solus on my D3. Very good reviews, better star ratings for fuel economy and noise than some of the more expensive, branded ones.
Have a look at Blackcircles.com

You will get back lots of answers re your tyre choice and at the end of the day you choose what you feel will do what you need.

Give me a call and I will be happy to help with the pluses and minuses of all the tyres.

Let me add that the General AT is the most popular with the new GT from General getting some fantastic feedback and they do not damage your pocket too much.
