3/8" impact driver - your suggestions please....
Looking for a 3/8" impact driver.
Doesn't need to be mega heavy duty. Your suggestions please (if you have links that's also welcome).
Been looking at Milwaukee, Bosch, Ryobi, Makita, de Walt so far.
A bit of a Minefield with some plastic, some metal, torque adjustment or not, multi speed/power.

Dewalt 18v 1/2" with 3/8 reducer i find good on all but tightest bolts/nuts....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!
if you already have suitable DeWalt tools (i.e. with compatible batteries) the "bare" ones at screwfix are good value.
probably true of other brands too..

As said if you use a 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor what about Keilder?
3 year warranty, £180 from machine mart ( you only get 10% off when it's vat free time ) but very powerful for the money

I've been using a 3/8 milwaukee for about 3 years.
It's been very good and has a fairly compact head that can get into awkward spots.
It has 3 torque settings up to 300nm...M12 bolts are about it's max.
When it packs up i'll get another as i have a few batteries and other milwaukee stuff.

I use a 1/4" Milwaukee bit driver, with 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" socket adaptors
Admittedly, it's the 18v version, as it's the same battery as my big impact gun, but the small one is still powerful enough to undo D3 wheel nuts My D3 Build Thread

If you look on just about any mechanics/tool forum one name comes up again and again and that name is Milwaukee.
Ive got their 1/2 18v fuel version had it approx 5 yrs poss longer good gun amazingly powerful. also the 3/8 18v fuel again real good as is their 18v fuel drill all the brushless versions.
Out of all three the 3/8 version sees by far the most action.
3/8 version any make is all about access so the smaller the head the better.
The 1/2 version again any make is perhaps overkill for just about any diy work and with a step down to 3/8 is going to be slightly mental ott
Toughness also comes into it and Ive dropped mine multiple times.
The L-ion batteries seem to last an age 4 and 5 amp units.

I have the dewalt 10.8v impact wrench, love it and use it all the time...as a ratchet. It's super lightweight and great for spinning nuts on or off, but it's nowhere near powerful enough to crack a disco wheel bolt. The MAC version which is a more powerful gun, but takes the same battery, is a bunch more powerful and not much heavier, but still a tiny bit under powered.
The other 3/8 one I've used is the current snap-on 3/8 gun, very impressive bit of kit, no issues with power and fairly portable, although nowhere near as light as the 10.8v dewalt.
It's generally cheaper to buy from an online store or amazon, rather than screwfix, obviously returns are harder.2008 TDV8 Sport HSE

Thanks for the views so far.
Reason for the 3/8 is to have less torque than the 1/2" ones
So the snap on 10.8v or the Milwaukee looks like the choices. I've got various drills and bits, but nothing in the proper range of tools so battery set isn't an issue, but considerate of the fact that whatever I choose is likely to be the brand/battery that I go with moving forward.
I like the Milwaukee 18v one that is a 90degee ratchet. Bodsys Brake Bible

My Snap On impact gun was more powerful than my air impact gun
The big Milwaukee is something like 1490Nm of torque, and it beats 7 shades of out the Snap On
That was my switch, and only bought Milwaukee since My D3 Build Thread
