TPMS amber alert - no message, no faults

Scratching head on this one. Driving along and TPMS amber light comes on solid for about 30 seconds then goes out. May come back on again intermittently.

Tyre pressures are fine, no message appears in the display when the light comes on and there are no stored fault codes on either the TPMS or other ECUs.

Any clues smart people ?

OK, it's not winking at me - I now get a message "check all tyre pressures" but they are all spot on. I guess the next step is plug in the Faultmate and see what the sensors think the pressures are. I note in the handbook there are messages which suggest an ability to warn for normal and heavy load - how does the TPMS know or is that based off the range of tyre pressures - can't recall a switch to tell it. My tyres are at normal load so I could understand they might appear to be under inflated for heavy load.....

Immediately after start up, when the light is on on the tpms button, you need to press and hold that button. A message should come up in the display to say the the system is set for light loads. That should turn off the warning light.

Found out that the North America spec LR3 doesn’t have that button so I assume it doesn't ever give out that error message.

Which makes it even more puzzling.

Ahh, I hadn't predicted you were going to say that. And now you have found the limit of my knowledge, sorry I can't help further!

Hi StornowayStu,

I have the same issue and it drives me nuts. I've wanted to disengage this system but the dealer and local shops say it cant be done plus wouldn't citing tampering with safety systems. I have been told the spare tire can kick it off too. I understand with an IIDTool, this can be turned off - anyone have any information on this?
