My D3 (2007, 100k km) started to make this loud clunk when brakes are sharply applied during slow drive. From reading the posts - I think that the lower front arm bushes are gone. Also, although there is no freeplay in the steering - the precision of steering is not as it used to be (the car seems to float a little bit). Can this be attributable to the bushes as well?
While site-sponsors price is very tempting for the whole package - I think the shipping cost of such a bulky package to Slovakia will just make this too expensive for me. So I am thinking of buying just the bushes (+washers and bolts) and get them replaced by the local garage (they've done it already on friends D3). Anything else worth looking at/replacing while doing the bushes?
thanks
Note: ARB bushes (front and rear) have been replaced some time ago (eliminated clunks/rattlies over small bumps). Nothing else on the suspension has been replaced yet. 2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT
