Delivery of my new HSE but half of the Black Pack Missing.
Yesterday I picked up my new HSE in black on which one of the options was the Black Pack. Even as I drove up to the dealer I could see the silver front and side grills glistening in the sun :0( Dealer tells me its a factory mistake and not uncommon for the black pack to be missing the black Land Rover, Discovery 4 and grills. Hoping to get this all swapped next week but concerned it could be a problem to swap the badging without damaging the paint.
New MY13 is nicer to drive than my three year old Disco 4 with the new gearbox and slightly more power, just so much smoother. Wheels are awesome!

There seems to be a run on Black Pack missing bits at the moment I wouldn't worry about the paint ...it's their issue to put right if there is a problem 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Ok I own up, it's all my fault.
I've got an infiltrator at LR to stop all these Landmark lookalike black packs going on just any Disco models.
(Heck their ain't enough to go round, especially with all the Landmarks they've produced.)
Seems to be working ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I suspect lots of "black" bits will appear on Fleabay in a while.

Yes had exactly the same with mine. Missing grill's, mirror caps and badging. Just had the grills fitted, but still no LAND ROVER or DISCOVERY in black. Dealer says they are on back order. He also said that the individual bits were not available, they have to order complete kits and cannibalise to get the bits they need

That means even more bits will appear on the bay, resulting in even more Landmark lookslikes, upsetting Ron even more!!

On a serious note, how can Land Rover final inspection miss something as glaringly obvious as this?
Puts into question, what else is going on or missing from the final build.
Do these inspectors (and their bosses) know they're releasing vehicles that aren't built to customer spec?
Who's doing the final inspection anyway ..... Stevie Wonder
"Guy went back to his dealer a few days after taking delivery of his new D4.
Said seating was a bit cramped as his left arm kept hitting the side windows ( as he turned around to whack the kids).
Dealer took it an and found out they'd only gone and specced him a LH drive."
Just wonder when we'll hear a story like that. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Well it's either a case that the elements of the pack are not being made fast enough or have another production problem ....the other thing is that the build list (which if you remember is attached to the motor as it goes down the line) doesn't feature all of the black pack in it's component parts and therefore parts of it are not being called for the JIT on the line 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

So the dealer has just returned my car now sporting the main and side grills in black and all the black lettering. To me it looks infinitely better and im planning to spend the weekend matt black wrapping the silver sides to the side steps. Really chuffed its now looking the way I had envisiged!

Good news
Would good to see some pics
Just be aware if you're wrapping the side step edges as that area will be more prone to stones being chucked at it from the front wheels....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Or...........the build list has been entered incorrectly by the dealer which is why you got privacy and wheels (thinking about it tho, i think you can only get the wheels with black pack)D4 Fuji White HSE with Black Pack, TV, RSE, Tow Pack, Side Steps & Heated Steering Wheel

To a degree I can understand the factory not noticing the missing components of the pack if the pack is listed as a single line item. Not trying to excuse the mistake just understand how they could have sent that car out with the wrong parts
The dealer missing it surprised me. I dont believe that they are up to their eyes in PDI and would have thought product knowledge would have caught the wheels aren't standard and only available as part of the black pack with the most of the black pack missing!
Has anyone ever received their new Disco only to find the factory accidentally added full nav or even just a cool box. I think I know the answer already.
Cant really complain as the dealer fixed this in less than a week....
Going to give it a clean and upload a couple of photos...
