DON'T use the clear plastic parking ticket retainer clip!

Put the parking ticket at a multi story under the clear plastic retainer clip, down near the dash on the front windscreen of my D3. Don't usually do this but lots of trash on top of the dash.
Noticed the retainer didn't fit that tight against windscreen. Off shopping with the strife, returned, paid £2 for parking, placed validated ticket under the retainer and drove up to the parking exit machines.
Went to remove ticket from clip, whereupon it slipped down and disappeared between glass and dash. Completely swallowed and irretrievable.
Kind parking man tried to charge me £12 for lost ticket replacement. Knocked him down to £6.
Then drove onto A38, completely blocked by accident. An hour later, got home.
Not my best weekend ever, particularly I am in process of giving up smoking again....

Ahh, I lost my National Trust card in the same way!.

If you give the knee panel that forms the bottom of the dash on the drivers side a sharp tug, it hinges down. You will find your ticket there Wink A bit late now though 8)

Be cautious if you do this (remove the panel). It does come away quite easily, but the two little spring clips that hold it on can launch themselves a remarkable distance into the nether parts of your vehicle, never to be seen again...

I'm sure this clip thing is pre-stressed to have at least three months worth of previous tickets/shopping lists/takeaway menus/'doctor on call' signs already placed in it with the most current one at the front, thereby creating enough tension to keep them there? so only one or two in the clip, well you're asking for trouble! Laughing

Reminds me of Mr.Bean... Laughing I never leave my parking ticket in the car, that way, I am not making it easy for a car thief to leave the car park.
