I've got a Curt - no idea the model number as it was on when I bought it.
I have a hitch carrier I use occasionally. It took the weight of a steel ski chair no problem - a real old school chair with legs added, weighed a ton.
Scooter should be no worries. '80 109 Stage 1 V8 - still going strong!

The original LR hitch was rated at 500kg, evidently LR downgraded that to 250kg an occasional use.

I use the factory unit to tow my camp trailer winch is about 5k lb loaded, but i'm not sure of specific tongue weight. Its stamped 770lb limit, if your chair weights more than that you might want the CURT.
