As per my (German) dealer their will be an upgrade available in autumn which enebles the build in heater to work. You then will be able to use it as an independent heater which can be switched on by remote or even by SMS.
Can anyone confirm this information?
And the important question: will their be a second battery necessary to run the heater. I am asking because i am just installing a dual batt system and do not want to remove it after a few months when i need the 2nd batt compartment.

This is very interesting as I have been working with the heater manufacturer and the issue is fuel comsumption when the vehicle is at rest. That is why LR have not loaded the software to run the heater. If they do, it could run the car out of fuel and the system need bleeding. Think we must watch the space in Germany for results.
