Well done to LRI ...they knocked a bit more off my renewal quote and brought it down to £575 ....the cheapest I have paid for more than 10 years
For comparators..... I'm 45 in a KT postcode, Fully comp NCDP & spouse, Business 1, £250 excess, Full off-road cover, guaranteed LR parts and body shop, vehicle for duration of repair, legal cover, new for old in year 1 ...blah blah 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Interesting - I assume they are good ?
I had a text from them last week with a quote. I havent been looking so I assume its tied to the dealer DB I bought mine from.
Mine is up early next month so will start looking but to be honest on the text it looked a good price D4 HSE - Aintree Green

I've been with them for 10 years this year and have always been prepared to pay slightly more for peace of mind....I had a prang in 2006 off-road in a forest and they paid up without batting an eyelid.
I've recently bought a new D4 and expected £8-850 ish ...so a pleasant surprise 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

they quoted me £382 and it could drop to £301 if a Spouse is added.
I am ancient tho
i guess I am not sure of the Excess with that and what it would cost me with my daughter on
I will be doing the comparison with Admiral later this week D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Yeah well just remember that we don't allow blue bins in my end of the borough ....bit common 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

So do you load up your landfill rubbish and take it to the other end of the borough
And use their blue bins then?

Sorry about that, I couldn't resist.
I know that was nothing to do with land rover insurance

I took out LR insurance when I bought the D4 (well, it seemed the right thing to do).
Cost me around £900, then renewal for following year was over 1k, so decided to go elsewhere.
So another year down the line and last week I get a letter quoting me £412, then a follow up phone call last night.
I had to tell them that whilst quote was far better than before, it couldn't beat the new policy I just took out with Privilege for £270. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

not all policies are the same and some like LRI provide higher levels of cover and service.
ie I bet privilege don't cover offroad use and guarantee genuine parts and repairs at JLR approved repair centres.
your not comparing apples with apples. Duncan
