There is on mine, I normally leave my lights on auto but was out in the fog before so had to switch them on manually, when I got home and turned ignition off as soon as I opened the door there was a bong and I think the warning said "Sidelights still on" or words to the effect  Cheers Ian

Yep, mine bongs+warning message (lights on) +yellow triangle warning light +won't let me out the car. Or is that 'cause I've forgotten to undo the seatbelt again 
This happens if you leave main or sides on.
It also switches down from main beam to sidelights automatically but does NOT eventually switch lights off altogether, like many cars do. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer
