Portable Audio option missing from HSE |
|
Started the car up this morning and the portable audio option was no longer on the menu, stopped the car for a few minutes started again and still the same. A few hours later wgen I started the D4 up again, the option was there again.
Has anyone else had this?

I haven't had that problem exactly but on my last D4 when I started it up it would say that there was no Ipod attached but unplugging it and plugging it back in would fix it. Cheers Ian

I tried unlugging and reseating both the ipod and the usb stick, but the option was still not there. I also noticed that the ipod was not charging and the led on the usb was not flashing anymore. When I started the car later, portable audio selection was back on the menu, ipod was charging and the usb light was flashing again.

This has just happened on our RRS.
Left it, whilst I searched.... (Couldn't find anything on RRS). Found this, and on restarting, found that the portable audio option has back.
Do we know why this is happening?? As you slide down the banister of life

The portable audio option disappeared due to a very low battery charge, turned out to be a faulty cell in the battery - LR replaced it with a AGM type battery. I had the same problem last month, but connected the CTEK charger and it's been fine since.
I believe the problem is I do not use the D4 enough - its not quite done 12k miles yet and it was 3 years old at the end of March.

Will keep an eye on it to see if it happens again. The car gets used daily and supposedly had a new battery when we bought it in August. As you slide down the banister of life
