Morning Geoff
One thing you might like to know is that the remote seems to work better heating the cabin without Auto on than with it on. I set the temp at 23 degrees as you suggested
Great job, and thanks for travelling so far for me!

Paul, how do you leave the heater controls set up if you DON'T leave it just set on auto?
I never find mine with Factory Fit remote heating gets very warm in the cabin, especially if it's down at 2-4 degrees ambient.
Mind you my 12MY only runs for about 17 minutes of actual blown heat thanks to the b dy BMS/ voltage problems, which LR still haven't properly sorted. It's had all the software fixes etc but still not reliable 100% of the time. Only guaranteed to work if I've CTEK'ed each night, especially when I'm only doing short journeys.
By the way anyone else noticed a strange thing happen on the green telltale on the remote plipper. Mine sometimes illuminates orange for a very brief period before turning solid green and then the usual intermittent green flash to confirm it's been received and turned the park heat on. I am sure on THESE occasions it doesn't do a full cycle. Almost as if the remote has been told that there isn't enough oomph in the battery, right at the very start of the whole sequence. It's not the same as you get when the remote's own battery is running out.

Lifted from the Discovery 4 manual:
The LED indicator, contained in the remote control, signals various states and conditions for the heater as follows:
• Illuminates green for 2 seconds when the ON button is pressed, to indicate that heater operation has been requested.
• Illuminates red for 2 seconds when the OFF button is pressed, to indicate that the heater has stopped.
• Flashes green or red for 2 seconds when the on or off buttons are pressed, to indicate that the signal was not received. • Illuminates orange for 2 seconds before showing green or red, to indicate that the remote battery is low. • Flashes orange for 5 seconds to indicate that the signal was not received and the remote battery should be replaced. Clive
When I press the on button it holds green for a couple of secs and then flashes green for the whole cycle (20 mins). If I get in the car and start up before 20 mins has elapsed it continues to flash green for a little longer even though the FBH is now finished. This is normal.
The FBH will work with or without AUTO being pressed on the central control knob, it may be my imagination, but it seemed to heat the cabin better with just A/C on and temp dials both on 23.

D4mation, Yes I read all the handbook before
This is the briefest of, I think, orange flashes of the green telltale, much less than a second, before it goes into the correct sequence of green long flashes then intermittent flashes through the whole process. But it never seems to do a full "20" minute cycle if it has done this quick orange flash first.
But when car is fully CTEK'ed it always shows NOTHING but the correct green flashes throughout. It's definitely not the Low battery or failed signal flash codes, it's way too brief.
I will change the battery though just to see what happens.
