I reversed into my drive last night & left the D3 parked in there overnight.
When parking last night the reverse gear warning tone worked normally.
I left home first thing this morning for a 150 mile round trip, and when I got back & again reversed into the drive the reverse gear tone sounded continuously whilst reverse gear was selected.
Nothing special about this morning's drive, mostly motorway.
Any idea of what the fault might be please, & how do I fix it?

If you've been down the motorway check the back of the car. If it's really heavily coated in that horrible white winter road grime ( which it will be ) give it a wash, well..........at least clean the sensors.
Mine did exactly this after a 50 mile trip. Cleaned the sensors and normal service was resumed.
Wipe with a damp cloth then come back and thank me for saving you a fortune. Mods:

Make sure the sensors are clean. Mine gives a continuous bleep sometimes when they are dirty.

as said above give the sensors a wipe
ps if it still there it will need plugging in to find out which sensor is giving you the trouble

Put car with engine off but ignition on, into reverse.
Put yer finger by each sensor and if it ticks (very quietly hence engine off)
Then that sensor is ok (at that time ) one that are silent are the culprits, then its either that sensor or wiring loom in bumper that is chafed etc. I replaced both inner sensors and loom which sorted me out
Thanks to TLO for the parts as ever

If its the outer ones, then its possible to reach in and remove , but Deffo a number off job for two inner ones
But it's dead easy to pop bumper off (after undoing seazed screws on mud-flaps)

Ignition on, EPB off, and into reverse
PDC does not work with the handbrake on
The rest of the info is correct. The sensors give out a very fast, faint "tick" noise. The ones that dont tick is where the fault lies. All of the sensors can be removed without removing the bumper, and can be swapped round quite easily to diagnose a sensor, or wiring issue My D3 Build Thread

I had the same problem last year, it started as an intermittent fault which cleared after jet washing round the sensors, it eventually became a permanent fault on the nearside sensor which I replaced with a new one from TLO.
When I pulled (broke) the old one apart, it was wet and badly corroded inside.
I suspect the nearside one may be the most common one to fail, it gets the worst of the crud spray from roadside puddles.Clive
