I have a 2005 D3 and recently noticed a burning rubber type smell from the NSR wheel. I believe it's likely to be an EPB or brake calliper problem and have my car booked into my local Independent garage later this week for a service and to check out this problem. I have read posts about not using the EPB and relying on the "park" gear selection, any views/advice would be welcome? Is it a case of just not using the EPB in the winter? Look forward to your comments.

You will have polar views on usage.
personally I think keeping it properly serviced and used is the way to go, but others will swear by never using it. I do wonder though, if they wont be swearing AT it when they do really need it and it fails through seizing due to lack of maintenance and use..... Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy. Interestingly I have owned my D3 for only 1 month and its well overdue the service it's getting later this week, so given your comments I wonder whether a lack of a service is causing the problem. I must admit I am a little nervous about not using it.

If you don't use it, the first person to use it will be the MOT tester. So you'll probably end up with a dead EPB AND a failed MOT. 2014 D4 XS

I'm with Den - just use it on hills. It gets serviced/adjusted every year. Hope this is enough to keep it in good order?

was fixed at great expense I was told use it as regularly as you can....
not using it is the worst thing you can do....I learnt the hard way with my wallet.
.....sadly it doesn't deploy automatically like other do (Jag S type for one)...from what my Jag dealer tells me they have few problems with these. BREXIT - done properly.
