not sure about landrover, but mercedes or bmw will printout any history they have if you prove current ownership of the vehicle
each time this has been done freely by both dealers
if you have a stamp in the book, i dont see why the dealer wouldnt confirm its authenticity along with confirmation of work carried out ....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!

You would need to contact the dealer for any service history, Land Rover themselves don't keep service history as far as I'm aware.

do the dealers have a duty to tell you the history of a vehicle?

No I don't believe they do, however if you were to pop in an introduce yourself I can't see there being an issue. Btw,Land Rover do keep history of warranty claims and recalls etc.

I emailed Marshall Landrover in Bury St Edmunds asking for evidence of service history on my D3 & a nice man emailed back within hours with a spreadsheet of all work done which matched up with the service book and MOT dates etc. I was impressed with the service!

When I bought my D3, the first service stamp was missing, so I tried to get a copy of the service history, but LR dont seem to keep all the service histories on any central system. The dealership who were thought to have done the missing service had folded, so no chance of checking.
That said, LR were able to say that the car had been serviced in accordance with the warranty, as if it hadnt, the warranty would have flagged up as having been voided. They even supplied me with a letter confirming that although they couldnt say where or when the first service had been, they could say it had been serviced and maintained in accordance with schedules etc. Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

Surely just coz the warranty isn't void dosn't mean that it's been serviced as the schedule requires. If LR don't keep details of servicing and no big warranty job's been done then they'd have no idea at all if the servicing has been done or not. Plus re the duty of care from the dealer, the contract for the work was between the garage and the customer, technically nothing to do with a third party even if they do now own the car.
