Thanks for your comments about my car.
Just to let you know that I told my salesman on friday that I wished to reject my discovery because of the number of suspension failures. Spoke to them today and they have prepared a deal on a new HSE but are going to speak to LR on Monday to see how much they are willing to contribute. Hopefully I wont have to pay a lot more. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Might I suggest that you shouldn't be paying at all, as rejecting the vehicle inplies it was faulty when suppied new. Your's seem's to have been worse than one other I have personal knowledge of. He did contribute for the change. Your's is in a whole different league.
Please screw them for every penny, whilst still being Mr nice guy of course, as you deserve it for your patience.

Just for the records, I had a RR at the time I bought the D3. That too had many problems which were almost identical to the ones we are getting. I was lucky, must say because mine were minor compared to some.
I think 90% of all D3 problems are software, the others mechanical, with compressors heading the list.
A small percentage are the lack of detailed instruction in the handbook and lack of dealer knowledge. My previous dealer, the Sales Manager, didn't know how to get a 110 into low range or lock the diff. How common is that I wonder.
Woody if you have had all these problems, I think that a replacement at no cost should be the order of the day. After all even the trips to the dealer and the time in the dealers has cost you money.

Sorry Idmams but did I read 10 compressors correctly?
Are you blowing up all the kids party ballooons in the area?
Can't they find some underlying cause as it sounds like mine has the same affliction.

Must be the cause of TFC's delayed delivery of his D3

Must be the cause of TFC's delayed delivery of his D3 well it's here now, complete with compressor - and they're not getting it back!
