Totally agree though, they are safe and well and this is probably due in some not small part to the car they were in. If there's going to be an accident we all want our loved ones to have the best chance possible. I believe the Disco gives us just that.

To be honest as soon as its gone over the pre-tensioner will have fired and pulled the seat belt as tight as it could and sometimes you just cant get the thing off. The kids would likely have been able to wiggle about to get theirs off and got out thru the boot no doubt but as her weight would have been on the buckle near enough its possibly her body was also blocking access to it.
As for the how... My money is on avoiding something on the left like a fox or rabbit and turning right sharply and slamming the brakes on and just catching the right hand embankment even a smidge will have thrown the top heavy beastie over FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!

Hi,
We found it very easy to put our D2 on its roof
Ice could have been a factor.... It's what I blamed although its always the "nut" that holds the wheel really!
What it did teach us was to carry a belt cutter / glass hammer, as KP says they are well the money, have one in each of our cars now, as only way out was through a smashed rear window, as it was up against a hedge as well !
As long as everyone gets out ok, it's just another life experience .....Transit! 2019

I have beltcutters in both our cars, but I just don't know where to keep them! If the car turns over and they aren't secured then the chance of finding them is probably nil. If you're the only one in the front and you can't get out of your seatbelt then you're not going to be able to reach the glovebox. I reckon the only way is to screw the holder into the B pillar but i'm just not comfortable doing that? Where do others put them?-------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi H,
Easy in the D2 it's screwed to the roof, everyone could reach it if needed even on its roof..
D3 screwed to the carpet in drivers foot well, alright if you are in the front
Same with the company car Passat screwed to the carpet, this time on the carpet tunnel between rear seats, again everyone can reach it and no holes when I take it out again
.......Anyway it's a good time for her to check her bushes
I trust you mean the D3's bushes ?BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Gerber do a very good seatbelt cutter that is attached to the belt itself, they have been tried, tested and proved by the British army on operations. I have one of these on each car I drive attached to the drivers belt, and always have a sharp multitool in the glove box too.

I live within two miles of Watton at Stone where it happened. The lanes are so narrow that even in good weather you have to crawl along as you can never see what is coming the other way. Havent a scooby how anyone could have done this to be fair ? As mentioned good that everyone was Ok and were able to walk away un-injured.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
