Bit of help with repair prices please. |
|
Hi,
Just put a deposit down on a 2005 SE which i'm really happy with.
My only issues with it are a few bits that im hoping won't be too costly to get sorted.
How much at a specialist would these bits cost roughly?
Nearside outer track rod end ball joint
Nearside front suspension arm synthetic bush
Offside front suspension arm synthetic bush
Rear brake discs
Rear brake pads.
Would really appreciate the help.

I'd be looking to get these known issues sorted by the supplying garage prior to pickup. Is this its only faults and was that from an independent inspection? I'm presuming its a garage.....

I inspected it and it is a private sale. These were advisories on the MOT. I have found these parts on euro car parts but not sure about how much for fitting etc..
I checked everything i could see and what had been advised from threads on here. The rest of the car seemed to be fine so hoping all is good once those bits are done.

Not too bad then, I am more concerned about the suspension/ball joints.

Nearside outer track rod end ball joint - Allow around £20 or so, and around 1/2 hour labour
Nearside front suspension arm synthetic bush } Allow enough to replace both front lower arms. The bolts tend to seize inside the bush, and the arms require cutting to remove them. The arms can be purchased for anything between £115 each, to £175 each. Allow 3 hours for fitting both sides
Offside front suspension arm synthetic bush}
Rear brake discs + Rear brake pads Discs range from £40 for a pair, to £140 a pair. Quality can be an issue with cheaper discs, so buy carefully. Pads are between £20 and £70. Fitting is approx 2hrs, which includes time to remove and free off any EPB seizures.
You will also need to have a wheel alignment done after fitting the front lower arms and T.R.E
Would really appreciate the help. My D3 Build Thread
