Seems to have been (or still be)a leak of pure t-butyl mercaptan. This is really stinky stuff they put into natural gas to give it a smell. Otherwise it is odourless and can build up without any one noticing until it goes * * BANG * * !
It is a very difficult smell to get rid of once it adheres to cloth and furnishings. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

We got tipped out at 0655 this morning for a gas leak at a house about 6 miles away, I could smell the gas when I was running out the front door to the station. The gas leak turned out to be no leak just the smell from France. The smell was very strong and after being outside for about 30 minutes, your throat felt sore/burning. It was not plesant.
