:censored: me...

NEW DOOR MIRRORS
it will be the Disco 5
then theres new rear lights
& that'll be the Disco 6

I was told by a sales man..the new RRS will be on the FFRR chassis / floorpan
& the Disco 5/6 or maybe 7 by that time will be shared with the Defender
which sort of makes sense....

I just hope when it does emerge it isn't a major departure as regards the size format & the logical / functional features
god forbid it gets blingier...it just doesn't need to be..its a working vehicle.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

It's a good 2-3 years off yet though- haven't even seen a basic concept of the vehicle.. wasnt there also a thing on the forum a few months back of LR wanting D3/4 owners to come down and say what they wanted in the new vehicle. That shows very early signs of development I'd say. Anyway, mine will be coming up to the end of warranty by the time it is allegedly supposed to come out so.... Mr. Green

It's hard to speculate on time. FFRR now out, RRS imminent so there is capacity for D5 to come out in 2014. Might be 2015 or 2016 either. None of us know! Personally I wish I had changed my D3 for a D4 a couple of years ago but now I am just going to wait.

I do hope that the engineers running that vehicle are having a good laugh at the statements online that this D4 is a chassis mule for D5, simply because of the "extended arches" Thud and a laptop holder inside! Must have made it worthwhile throwing some leftover camo stickers on it Laughing

Personally I would just take an update of the current car. I like the size, full 7 seats, air suspension, low ratio box etc. Losing some weight would help as would slightly more space behind the third row of seats. I don't need it to be too upmarket and too expensive. £40k would do me for XS+ spec but £50k would be too much.

PS Paid £33.5k for my SE in 2005.

"More sporty and nimble around town" - isn't that what the RRS is about?

Can't see them taking it down this route myself.

Hybrid mule supported by the 'electrical' nature of the big red stop button and other fittings on the centre console?

Standard fit to any development vehicle. If it was hybrid I'd expect more big buttons actually Shocked

Another thought I had last night that it could be fitted with the new Jag V6.

But are they actually extended .... look the same D4 ones to me?
If they are extended, why bother, the wheels don't protrude out any further, and why go to all the bother in remoulding just for an 'old D4'?
Confused

That's what the Thud meant - they are the standard D3/D4 sized arches Smile
