I've seen a few stupid drivers out today, about 5 cars (3 of them were Freelander 2's) driving along with just part of the windscreen cleared!
I also saw a D1 with a snow plough attached 8) when I went to Clowne today.

Can't work out what happened there, only top half of windscreen is cleared, unless that was a factor, but must have been going some to bust the wheel like that. Also no damage from the pillar if indeed it was the FFRR that did that.VR6 > 330D Touring > D3 HSE > !?XC90?!

had a little try on friday to the village and back on untreated roads for bacon, snow mode and hill button on drove lovely took my time, on the way back punched it slightly and the back end just flew out so stopped that sharpish lol. back up the untreated hill no probs home for bacon.
Drove to cardiff the next day and a in a green lane modified disco threw snowballs at me as i was driving towards them . why do they always travel in packs?

Went looking for unused roads on the edge of the Cotswolds. Had snow mode on, but still managed to drift on one bend and had a close look at a hedge. No bramble rash though. Awesome hill climbing ability. HDC was a novelty. Bit disconcerting how that cuts in and also the feeling of the ABS shaker, which came on most as I came up to bog-standard junctions where the snow had been compacted to ice.
Big car needs big stopping distance!
Got tailgated by a Cherokee. Muppet who ought to know better. Todays treat was the MX5 who blipped the throttle as he turned to start his three point turn where our road widens out. Cue nice drift, followed by wheelspin and fishtailing as he tried to get out of sight ASAP!

Looks like it crashed before the snow fell, big snowless bit under the car. Poss just lost it on ice, "parked" it there and it snowed.

Yep! That's steep Still can't see how the "crash" ( It it is that) happened. As has been pointed out, now apparent body work damage, no tyres tracks in the snow, linear or skidding. screen doesn't look right. No damage to the post and the rear wheel looks photoshopped frankly
Also the snow build up on the damaged wheel would seem to indicate that the car has stayed like that for some time which is at odds with the surface surrounding the car. if there had been significant snowfall during or immedieately after the "accident" then some would surely have built up immediately next to the car. There is none there and I can't see the police allowing the car to stay in such a hazardous position especially given the incline on which the car is. ( look at Matrins link above for a true depiction of how steep the hill is)

recovery agents will not remove until the road has been treated...likely that there are "road closed" signs behind the photographer. BTW just athought...you can see on the ice compacted road that the car was sideways coming down ie the two lines of tracks at the bottom of the photo....with the broken wall post I would think a) the vehicle went sideways behind the photographer hitting the raised kerb with the nsr axle and then continued down sideways hitting the wall post with the osf wing which is not in the photo..... just a thought

The road to where I work is a notorious steep one (Brookfoot Lane, Southowram) with some challenging bends
Yesterday wasnt ploughed or gritted til after 0700.
My D3 did its stuff effortlessly - in normal mode driving carefully past seven standard 2WD cars stuck or struggling....about 6" of the white stuf on top of frozen slush.
The Wintrac 3's (even now non snow categorised) were awesome not a single slip of any wheel
Stunning stuff. Glad I have my D3 & would be loathe not to have a 4WD this goodBREXIT - done properly.

Crash Course in Snow!
I purchased a D3 last week and have booked in on one of these 'Landrover Experience' days next week to pick up some tips!
However, I drove to Bristol Airport last Friday in the Snow from Exeter only to find my flight was eventually cancelled. When I returned to collect my vehicle from the of the Forge Car Park just 4 hours later I found my new toy under 6inches of snow at the bottom of a field!
I just wanted to stay that I was the only one able to leave the Car Park at that time and the technology onboard helped me as 'a complete novice' navigate my way up a very steep snowy field inbetween literally hundreds of other cars!
