Land Rover Insurance Versus ??? |
|
Hi... I have a disco 3 and just ordered a disco 4... The insurance is due on the 3 and have been looking at landrover but it's 50% mora than Churchill, is it worth it, is the price negotiable?
What's making me think is that Churchill now have a clause where they could use non genuine but similar panels
What's your experience?
I have till Feb to decide

Will try them on renewal next month. Not covering remaps was why I went to NFU when LRI was run by RSA. Basically I checked that they still had a note of my remap on the policy and they wrote to me cancelling my cover. Do you have to declare every extra/mod with the present peeps offering LRI?
PS and do they do offroad cover??

Have just been contacting insurance companies for a renewal to include a remap, was pointed to Adrian Flux, Footman James and Landrover from a previous post.
Adrian Flux were willing to cover a remap, just contact them when its done, approx 10% loading. Decent quote price.
Landrover gave a competitive quote but refused to cover a remap.
Footman James will only quote if you have classic car/bike insurance with them already.
NFU were too expensive again but it was better than any previous quotes I have had from them.
Current cover is with Aviva so rang them just to ask if any chance of covering remap and they said YES, again approx 10% loading.

Just tell them that you do a lot of towing and it doesn't increase the top speed of the vehicle ...worked for me when I had a map ...don't need a map now though 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

no extra cost for offroad cover, no extra cost for modifications and no hassle in the event of a claim
for my right-off we didnt fill in any paperwork and LRI werent bothered about the mods, declared or otherwise, and payed the full market value within 10 days of the assessement, which was done 5 working days after repatriation to UK
if you go cheap - dont moan and winge when the insurance company screws you over..
We now have the FL2 and D4 insured with them - they even gave us a 10% discount (of the quoted price) because we returned to them after the claim !!! Duncan

Rich: Will give it a go. The online quote is £444 (before uplift if they do remap), NFU were £600 last year.
