Part Number LR004805 iPod Integration Kit! |
|
Just caught wind of this while looking Googling a receiver hitch. Land Rover in Rocklin California lists the kit on their website. I was going to dig right in tomorrow and install the Harmon Kardon Drive + Play kit using the Aux input in the footwell (describe elsewhere). I'd rather pay the extra dollars for LR's kit and not have to worry about LR scapegoating my aftermarket kit for any electrical woes. I called and they said the kit puts the steering wheel volume and track buttons in control of the iPod and it comes with a cradle to dock the iPod and charge it. No word on the head unit displaying track info but I doubt it, you'll have to install the cradle somewhere in sight. They also list the steerign wheel radio control switches for $49US. The kit lists for $275US. Anyone have any further insight on this kit? has it been available in the UK?

Yes. 10ForCash has installed one already, albeit with a different bracket mount.
Some information can be found in this thread. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
