TV Aerial connection in dash ???

does any body know if there is a connector some where in the dash for the tv aerial on the rear side window and if there is where it can be found / connected to ?

thinking of fitting TV digital tuner myself but don't really want to add another aerial as i like the look the way it is Very Happy Very HappyVery Happy Tintenter

Unfortunatly not ...the ariels on the back windows are not connected anyware.

You need some small amps ( 4 off ..one for each ariel ) that are £25 each.

Then there is a tuner box which will convert the signal (£666)

I looked into using the ariels fitted to the car but worked out to expensive ..

The ariels need to be connected with some special bonding glue ..then a small connected is fitted to the glass ...circle in the picture shows were the connection to the amp would be

thanks for the info look like i won't be going down that route now sweem a lot of work that could go wrong will have to have a rethink

Yeh .it is ...especially removing the headlining ..as the amp leads are very short and fit on a mounting bracket just above the ariels



I have a freeview box and use the ariel that came with it ..although i am going to change it to a small one that sticks on the inside of the glass.

My experience with in car tv ..normal or digital ..is that you will never get a decent picture on the move ...normally acceptable picture in traffic jams...and quite good parked up ...

Digital reception will only get better in time .. as the dredded switch over looms towards us (2008) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
