For Sale: 2012 Mini One 1.6D... On hold pending funds ;-)

We bought this in October for our daughter to start to learn to drive. Unfortunately due to some personal circumstances teenage inability to differentiate between the words "gratitude" and "attitude" Rolling Eyes ), it is now up for sale - It is Light Blue and has done only 100 (One hundred) miles and they were mostly done by the delivery driver from the dealer. These list at about £14500 or so. We are looking a £12500 as a starting point for negotiations.

It literally has the delivery mileage from the dealer driving it down to us. It has not been on the road since. We got it on the 26th October and I am registered as the 1st owner. It is a 62 reg, well it will be when I take the plate we bought for her off of it anyway Rolling Eyes

It has cd player, Aircon, Bluetooth, DAB, Selectable Stop/Start, 6 Speed manual, 3 year servicing and warranty etc

Cheers DSL! yeah, it was bought for her with conditions. She's not 17 until February so we were going to take here to a private road system training park near here to teach her the basic car control etc before she started properly. ( I have a back ground in driver/rider training, so it wasn't a random act! ) Unfortunately the Attitude vs Gratitude issue reared it's head and she went with the former one too many times. So someone should get a bargain Thumbs Up

Best

Thanks DO7K! Her mum and I are just fed up to the back teeth with it all. I'm guessing you can empathise a bit with seven! We only have the two - How do you manage? LOL

Im sure I will be the evil Step dad for a long while now but apart from anything else, all her mates know she got bought the car and now she'll have to explain to them why it's gone. Im sure our son is watching this intently and will learn the lessons for when he's 17 and gets a new car!

OUCH! Shocked

Thing is, I don't remember being like this when I was 17 - mum and dad probably think differently, mind but I always had respect for them. Right now the phrase "Here you go sweetheart, we bought you a new car" translates into " We are satan worshippers and we have just sacrificed your dog" Go figure Rolling Eyes

I dont think I'd be spending on her again for a very long time.

I brought our eldest 2 a car to share when they started driving, but it was only £2700 including a grands worth of insurance. They have both looked after it very well, and whilst not looking for "gratitude" for buying it, I've never had the "attitude" to deal with at all - we've been lucky with our kids, as I can see its a fine line between great kids and a right royal pain.

Kids expectations are far greater than ever before, I was grateful for a driving lesson never mind a car to use.

Have respect for you that you can afford such a gesture but how you deal with attitudes I have no idea Thumbs Up

Appreciate what people are saying here - It's all part of lifes rich tapestry I suppose. When she is good she is absolutely lovely but when she's like this - she is just nasty. I love her tremendously but right now, I don't like her. Her mum is the same. Enough is enough. We are not at war here, it's all about her developing the life skills needed to get on in the real world and right now, she's seriously lacking Rolling Eyes It'll all get sorted but right now it's tough love all the way!

ANYWAY - About this car we're selling..... Laughing Always happy to negotiate Thumbs Up Whistle

Fair play to you Steve for taking direct action, I would have done exactly the same.

As a parent I'll tolerate many, many things but an ungrateful attitude is not one of them and I will always take the action you have, every time. I'm sure it was the last thing you wanted but were forced to do it after repeated warnings.

I had to do it with a mobile phone contract where a certain offspring was basically taking the urine month after month. First time it happened, a caution was given and reassurances offered which was agreed by all. Following month, same again so it was removed and never handed back, it's since gone full term and ended without another call being made. Rolling Eyes

We always learn by mistakes, parents and kids included, all part of lifes rich tapestry.
