HDC fault/suspension bottomed/ABS lights/Speedometer dead

New battery last week, when the front lower arms were changed by an independent (Essex 4x4).

I have changed the brake light switch and bulbs to LR OEM, however I still have the Christmas lights and the suspension will not raise, the 'special programmes' dial will not work and I'm perplexed - any ideas??? Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Cheers

Might be obvious, but check all fuses. I had the problem on Sunday, changed the bulbs and switch and cursed for a while. Then we checked the fuses and the brake light fuse was blown. New fuse, all fine.

Turns out we have an earth fault on one of the trailers which blew the fuse.

Cheers, John

looked at all the fuses, no issues, I have had a quick look at the wiring as I had thought it maybe an ABS sensor??? but can't see anything obviously broken and I don't have a fault code reader. Had a new alternator about 6 months ago, so am hopelessly lost on this one?

Mine did the same three weeks ago. Read the fault codes and cleared them with the bas box and all seems to be ok now. Fault codes were all about crankshaft position sensor A circuit ? here they are p0336 p0335 and p0494 which is fan speed low?
Seems to be a lot of simlar symptoms going round at the mo but different codes coming up. Wierd.

Which is exactly why it is so important to have fault codes read. It removes any guesswork/scaremongering Thumbs Up

Checked fuses, no issues - decided to do a hard reset, still no luck so set off down the drive to my local indie, after about 150yds the lights disappeared and normal activity resumed!!!

Perhaps it was the brake switch unit after all...... Yawn

Thanks for the posts,

Mitch

I had exactly the same prob as you although intermittent, would would for half a day then nothing for a number of other days. Indy had it on and off for about 5 weeks, everything replaced, height sensors, compressor etc, still problem persisted. Eventually took it to local dealer who had it for 3 weeks, did exactly the same as the indy but then removed fuse box in engine bay and found a chaffed wire underneath it !!! Wire repaired and she has been working like a dream ever since Thumbs Up Now to go and chew an oak tree Rolling with laughter
